CORE VALUES
Building Community
MY STORY
A resident of Charlestown for almost 30 years, I met my husband, Frost, when we were students at CHARIHO Tech's ag program. I was the first in my family to go to college, and worked full-time to pay my way. I earned a bachelor's and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Rhode Island. My husband and I are the parents of two sons who attend local public schools.
I’m proud to be the RI State Representative for district 36, serving Charlestown, South Kingstown, Westerly and Block Island. Let's stand up for our families and our future in Rhode Island.
OUR SHARED VISION
We want to build an economy that offers jobs, affordable housing and an environment that can sustain us, so that Rhode Islanders can thrive in Rhode Island for generations to come.
........
Tina Spears was elected November 8, 2022 to the RI House of Representatives. She is a member of the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee and the House Municipal Government and Housing Committee.
Tina has spent the last decade advocating for people with disabilities, and is currently Executive Director of the Community Provider Network of Rhode Island. Her own experience as the parent of a child with significant health challenges led her to become an ardent advocate for families of children with disabilities. She has been a frequent presence at the State House over the last decade, working to defend Medicaid benefits, increase wages for caregivers and help win paid leave for people who must leave work to care for a new child or an ill family member.

CORE VALUES
Sharing Our Humanity
At a time when the news cycle often emphasizes division and negativity, I remain committed to a different approach, one rooted in building community, strengthening relationships, and encouraging respectful, honest dialogue, even when we don’t always agree. I believe effective representation starts with listening, showing up, and treating one another with dignity.
